Uncle Sam taught me many valuable lessons b.c. (before children). One that's served me well is: everyday someone is working, even holidays. Regardless of the sentimental or traditional attachment to any given day, someone is always working. In fact, from 2006 through 2017 I missed spending most of those holidays with my kids, because I was working.
And signing up for *Winter in Wonderland* I knew I'd be spending the holidays away from my kids and all of my loved ones. It's not been a cake walk for me or many of my coworkers. But Xanterra (my current employer) has been on point with providing us with activites (and subsequently camaraderie) to help us fill in the gaps that come with being far from home:

Hot cocoa and cookies☕🍪
12/20/2019 Decorating Cookies at the Employee Pub. I made this one and left it for those brave enough/with the constitution to consume massive amounts of sugar (I had too much, actually overdosed on cocoa & cookies on the 18th)

Making/decorating jars of hot cocoa at Paintbrush while "Elf" was playing in the background
Visit with the Big Guy🎅
